The Year 2008

Life has finally began to slow down. Thank goodness. This past year has been a very hard year for us. Dad was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in July. In October Ben's dad had an accident and cut 3 fingers almost off (he only lost 1 after sewing on the others). Ben's dad was then paralyzed and quickly diagnosed with Guillian Berre(-sp?) Syndrome and treated. While we were visiting his dad in the intensive care we were also visiting my mom while she was recovering from a back surgery. 7 days after her first surgery we were back at the same hospital, in the same surgical waiting room, waiting for her to get out of her 2nd surgery. Unfortunately one of the screws that was put in a week prior was screwed in right against her central nerve, causing her to not have use of her left leg. During this same time we were advised not to turn on our furnace at all. It was getting pretty cold in the house with no heat. The Lord undoubtedly sustained us through the entire way. The Lord cured my dad of his cancer; Ben's dad's fingers are healing and awaiting another surgery, and through physical therapy multiple times a week he is finally able to walk and maintain a regular and normal lifestyle; my mom is finally walking without her cain and is back to work; and as for our furnace - the Lord laid it upon our church's heart to take an offering which brought in almost $1500 towards our furnace!!! We thank the Lord for His constant goodness and provision to us in 2008!
