We've been extremely busy these past several weeks. I think things will begin to slow down after this week is over. Grant will play his final soccer game tomorrow evening. Michaela's soccer team made it to the finals - she plays this coming Saturday morning. (Grant's age does not do playoffs - that's next year for him) If she wins that one then it's off to the championship game in the afternoon. We have high hopes!!! Either way will really be fine with us. Both kids have played outstanding this season. Both kids teams have gone undefeated, also both teams have shown great sportsmanship which they have been recognized for.
Aside from all of the practices/games each week we have been busy learning Bible verses/Awana sections. The kids look forward to Wednesday evenings for Awana Club. Grant is cruising right along. Last week he said 9 sections! Michaela has 7 ready for this Wednesday. It has been a lot of work getting them all caught up in their books according to their age group (from not being involved in previous years). Brooklyn is learning verses as well each week. Actually today as I was making dinner I was having Michaela recite a few things and before she could answer Brooklyn spouted off the answer. I was stunned!
Church is keeping me on my toes with piano pieces. I am trying to practice everyday for at least 30 minutes. So far I have been able to do that. Sometimes I even get a little bit more time in than that before the kids get home from school! This is definitely an advantage to being a full time stay at home mom! LOVING IT!!!
Today Brooklyn and I were able to accompany Ben to the eye doctors to help him pick out new glasses. This is a huge blessing! He hasn't had his eyes checked in about 9 years. I'm so glad he finally agreed to take care of this. He's known for some time now that he needed to go, but it has been difficult for many reasons to actually go do it. #1 him not wanting to spend the money. There's always something else that he fealt we needed to spend the money on. #2 his schedule #3 that uncomfortable little puff of air that they do :)
I will have to take a pic of him in his new glasses in about 7-10 business days!!
We are very much looking forward to the holiday seasons coming up! The kids are very excited to be home this year for Christmas. Michaela heard of a friend of hers that they have a tradition to sleep around the tree the night before Christmas. She is hoping to start that tradition here this year. We'll see? Brooklyn says she is scared because when Santa comes down the chimney he might step on her putting the presents under the tree. I have a feeling she will end up in our bed that night.
Ben and I are looking forward to some time to relax and focus on what Christmas is really all about. We always read the Christmas Story out of the Bible to the kids. But this year I have a feeling will be even better. All 3 of them are getting older and we can involve them more on a different level. If anyone has any ideas or traditions that we may be able to inherit - we are all ears!

Hey! Um, why didn't Ben say anything...we would ALWAYS sleep in the living room on Christmas Eve! The classical station would play Christmas music and we'd leave that and the tree on all night.
I just wanted to say again that I love the blog. I have it on my blog-roll every morning. :)
I can't believe he hasn't said anything about that. I betcha it's because we havn't talked about it. He is so busy with school and work that lately we havn't had much time to cover everything to talk about.
Thank you!!!! I am trying really hard to keep it fresh.
