Tuesday, January 17th Our Day...

So this morning I woke with a very stiff back. I could hardly get dressed myself. I think I pulled a muscle when I was helping Ben move some very heavy furniture around at church. Thankfully I have some muscle relaxers that I could take when I got home from school today. So as I lay here in the recliner I see the kids "slaving away" to fullfill my motherly house duties. I have to admit it would be easier to just do it myself. I am giving them lots of credit tho, they are doing their best!

As I lay here I can also smell a wonderful aroma! I think Ben is making taco's - a personal favorite! I'm just wondering when he can take a moment and get a warm fire going in the fireplace????????

Michaela got back late last night from a weekend ski trip with some friends of ours. She was extremely excited on Friday as we were packing her things. Her friends mom came and got her at 3 pm before they took off for Up North, Michigan. I told her she could call me whenever she wanted. (thanks to A. Jeannie for her "emergency phone" that she got for Christmas) I wasn't sure if I'd here from her much. I went to bed around 10 pm on Friday and was pleasantly surprised as my phone rang at 12:03 am. It was Michaela. I can laugh now, but at the time I kinda started to freak out as to why she may be calling me after midnight. She just wanted to say good nite and to tell me that they had arrived safely. She called Saturday night again to tell me that she had braved the "Black Diamond". I couldn't believe it. She has been skiing several times over the last few years, but not ever more than twice during one season. I was proud to find out that she was braving a black diamond! I was praising the Lord for protecting her as she told me of a boy that broke his leg there this past weekend.

Today was our first Enrichment day after school. We have been having gym & music class weekly, but today started a new schedule. We have 20 kids from 8 families that get together for gym class, music/drama class, and then we end with art. Today the kids had a lot of fun. They were suggesting that we do that every day after our regular subjects. I don't think so - we didn't get home until almost 4 o'clock. The snowy roads didn't help get us home quickly.

Dinner, and then continue studying for a History test....

Goodbye 2011!!!!

Happy New Year from Ben, Shannon, Michaela, Grant, and Brooklyn!

We are planning on spending our last night of 2011 with friends from church. I have soup in the crock ready to go along with a nice spread of goodies. So glad to be finished with all the goodies of the season! Today the nurse came to check Ben out. We've uped our Life Insurance and it's been such a pain to schedule the exam. Finally checked that off the list. This week since Christmas has been so nice - the kids have all been busy with their Nintendo 3DS's. Sibling rivalry has been at an all time low. Love it!
